Spice Up Your Summer at La Jolla Country Day School with Cookin’ Around the World!
This summer, young chefs in 3rd–8th grade are invited to roll up their sleeves and explore the world—one delicious dish at a time! At Cookin’ Around the World Summer Camp, each week brings a new culinary adventure, featuring hands-on cooking experiences inspired by global cuisines, pizzas from around the world, magical Hogwarts-style treats, and even Disney-inspired delights.
Campers will learn kitchen basics, gain confidence in cooking skills, and explore new cultures through the universal language of food. Whether they're whipping up dumplings, crafting sweet confections, or making savory street food, kids will have a blast while learning something new every day.

WEEK 1: June 23 – 27 | 8:00–11:30 AM
Cookin’ Around the World: Enchanting Eats Hogwarts Culinary Adventures!
Campers embark on a magical journey to Hogwarts, savoring butterbeer pancakes and double chocolate cauldron cakes straight from the wizarding world!
WEEK 2: July 7 – 11 | 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Cookin Around The World: Junior Chef Showdown - Cook, Create & Innovate!
Bring the excitement of a cooking competition to the next level by adding the magic of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)! In this culinary adventure, kids not only master cooking skills but also explore the art and science behind food. Each session, junior chefs receive a mystery basket filled with ingredients and STEAM-based challenges that inspire them to think critically and creatively while making delicious dishes. From experimenting with the chemistry of baking to creating artistic food presentations, young chefs will combine culinary techniques with STEAM principles in a thrilling, fast-paced showdown. It’s the perfect class for curious minds and budding chefs who want to blend creativity, science, and culinary arts.

Cookin Around The World: Pixar Palate Party - Tasting the Magic of Pixar Movies
Children explore their favorite Pixar films, whipping up dishes featured in Ratatouille, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., and more! Daily demos and kitchen experiments enhance their cooking skills.
WEEK 4: July 21 - 25 | 8:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Cookin Around The World: Star-Studded Plates - Celebrity Chefs' Signature Creations
Campers recreate signature dishes from top TV Network Celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay, Rachel Ray, Gordon Ramsey, Giada DeLaurentiis, and Ree Drummond, learning how these culinary stars rose to fame!
